Q-Zine

Public Group active 1 year, 1 month ago

Help contribute to QT the 2011 Queer zine for CCQN members and our fans in the broader community. The group is set up to help people conceptualise the creation of this publication, while making it easy to contribute content and new ideas. Everyone is welcome, not just contributors, but supporters and other interested parties.

Issue 1 First Edition was released for Murdoch Orientation day 11th February 2011. I’m still hoping there will be some extra content before the other orientations, which will make up the Second Edition of the First Issue.

Next Issue is due out in April.

From Tumblr: We want really interesting blogs, it doesn’t have to be queer themed, just queer friendly, so we can feature things like street art, body piercings, depending on what you like. From Twitter: Active and preferably local twitter users… To give our Perth twitter community, especially #queerperth tweets a boost. From Facebook: Facebook pages, [...]

We probably didn’t get it perfect the first time. QT would have loved to have had contributions from CCQN members, but we were rushed for time. This is the place to give constructive criticism – expect more creative contributions in future issues, but remember we’re going to theme them, to cover things like Genderfuck, Bisexuality [...]

We’ve got to write about something. I think we cover the basics / 101 of the Queer activist scene with the community contributions from WAGP, Freedom, WAAC and GALE – so we can explore a few new ideas. Such as – I like the idea of following up on the youth theme. In the first [...]

We’re looking to feature some cool blogs, especially tumblr pages in each of the QT issues for 2011. There is space set aside for them, and we are hoping to get some really interest content that we can advertise.
